Message in a Bottle
Taken on board in 2003 by the club to help our community and with some support from Torbay Care Trust, around 30,000 "bottles" have been distributed around the bay area. Bottles, which are free of charge can usually be found in libraries, chemists, doctors surgeries and of course from us when we are at local events.
The scheme is free to the user. Whilst it is focused on the more vulnerable people in our community, anyone can fall downstairs or have an accident, so it benefits anyone, including you.
As a minimum it will save the Emergency services valuable time in identifying you and your emergency contacts. By telling whether you have special medication or allergies or not, it is a potential lifesaver and provides peace of mind to users, their friend and relatives.
Message in a Wallet
Realising the bottle cannot be carried away from home a "sister" has been designed. It is a clear plastic wallet, the size of a bank card, etc. which fits comfortably in a man's wallet, lady's purse or handbag. Supplied with a printed strip, which folds and remains in the wallet. It provides the same service as the bottle. These will be available from mid-December 2012.
